- School Library Connection : School Library Connection Reviews 2016 October
This is an updated version of a title first published in Great Britain. This new version includes information for "social-media savvy teens," including sections on sexting, Internet predators, and using cell phones to stay in touch with parents. The information in the book is standard fare for sex ed books, but it does present it in a conversational and informal way that teens will appreciate. Overall, the title covers what teens will want and need to know as they navigate through their adolescence. Unfortunately, because the book is a product of Great Britain, there are a few Britishisms sprinkled throughout the bookâslang terms for sexual reproduction organs and acts that might be confusing to some readers. The cartoon illustrations are also somewhat distracting with odd, angular body parts. Ultimately sex ed deserves a factual and accurate depiction to avoid confusion for readers.
